AVISO DE EMERGENCIA. Si estás teniendo una emergencia médica, llamá al número de emergencias de tu país o andá de inmediato a la guardia más cercana. No dependas de Bariatric AI para la atención de emergencias.
1. No es asesoramiento médico
La información, el contenido y las respuestas generadas por IA que brinda Bariatric AI (los "Servicios") son solo informativos y educativos. No son asesoramiento, diagnóstico ni tratamiento médico, y no deben interpretarse como tales.
Los Servicios son una herramienta de educación, registro y seguimiento del paciente, para usar junto con la atención y el criterio de un profesional de la salud, no en su reemplazo. Los Servicios no diagnostican, no interpretan mediciones clínicas y no te dicen qué tratamiento seguir.
2. No hay relación médico-paciente
El uso de los Servicios no crea una relación médico-paciente, terapeuta-paciente ni ninguna otra relación de tratamiento entre vos y Bariatric AI o cualquiera de sus integrantes, contratistas o afiliadas.
3. Consultá a tu médico
Ante cualquier duda sobre una condición médica, un medicamento, una cirugía o tus cuidados después de la cirugía o de un tratamiento con medicamentos (incluidos los GLP-1), consultá siempre a tu médico, cirujano u otro profesional de la salud. Nunca desestimes el consejo de un profesional ni demores en buscarlo por algo que hayas leído o recibido en los Servicios.
4. Límites de las respuestas de la IA
Las respuestas de Vita, la asistente de IA de la app, las genera un modelo de lenguaje de un proveedor externo (Anthropic). Para algunas respuestas, la app busca antes en una biblioteca de referencia que armamos con literatura publicada sobre nutrición, actividad física y cirugía bariátrica, y le pasa esos fragmentos al modelo. No todas las respuestas salen de esa biblioteca: el modelo también usa su conocimiento general. Que una respuesta cite una fuente no la hace correcta.
Estos sistemas pueden:
- Equivocarse, omitir contexto o dar información desactualizada.
- Interpretar mal lo que escribís, sobre todo en situaciones clínicas ambiguas o poco habituales.
- Generar información que suena verosímil pero es incorrecta ("alucinaciones").
Antes de actuar en base a cualquier información que recibas en los Servicios, verificala con un profesional de la salud.
5. No es un dispositivo médico aprobado
Los Servicios no están autorizados, aprobados ni habilitados como dispositivo médico por la Administración de Alimentos y Medicamentos de Estados Unidos (FDA), por la ANMAT ni por ningún otro organismo regulador, y no están destinados a diagnosticar, tratar, curar ni prevenir ninguna enfermedad. Acompañan la atención médica; no la reemplazan.
Avisos de síntomas. Algunas funciones (el chequeo de síntomas y el registro de dosis de la medicación GLP-1) te hacen preguntas cerradas sobre síntomas y, según tus respuestas, te muestran un aviso fijo que sugiere cuándo consultar a tu médico o buscar atención de urgencia. Si en un mensaje a tu equipo médico escribís palabras que pueden indicar una urgencia, la app también te muestra un aviso fijo. Esos avisos son automáticos y orientativos, no son un diagnóstico ni una indicación de tratamiento o de dosis, pueden no detectar un problema y no reemplazan la evaluación de tu médico. La decisión de consultar es tuya. Si te sentís mal, no esperes un aviso de la app ni la respuesta de un mensaje.
6. Variabilidad individual
Los resultados de la cirugía bariátrica, del tratamiento con GLP-1 y del control del peso varían mucho de una persona a otra según la biología, las otras enfermedades, la adherencia y otros factores. La información general de los Servicios puede no ser adecuada para tu situación. Cualquier plan personalizado tiene que revisarlo y supervisarlo tu médico tratante.
7. Contenido de terceros
Los Servicios pueden mostrar citas, enlaces o fragmentos de literatura científica de terceros. Ese contenido es responsabilidad de sus autores y editores. Que se cite un trabajo no implica respaldar una intervención en particular.
8. Sin garantía
En la máxima medida permitida por la ley, Bariatric AI no garantiza la exactitud, integridad, actualidad o idoneidad de la información de los Servicios para ningún fin médico en particular. Mirá nuestros Términos del Servicio para otras exclusiones y limitaciones de responsabilidad.
9. Responsabilidad del usuario
Reconocés que, si te basás en información de los Servicios, lo hacés por tu cuenta y riesgo. Bariatric AI, sus integrantes, contratistas y afiliadas no son responsables por las decisiones que tomes ni por las acciones que hagas en base a esa información. Si sos consumidor, esta sección se aplica solo en la medida en que lo permita la ley de defensa del consumidor que te corresponda; en Argentina, no limita los derechos que te da la Ley 24.240.
Para profesionales de la salud. Los Servicios son una herramienta de registro y seguimiento. No reemplazan el criterio clínico, que sigue siendo responsabilidad exclusiva del profesional matriculado. Sos responsable del uso seguro y adecuado de cualquier respuesta generada por IA en la atención de pacientes.

1. Not Medical Advice
The information, content and AI-generated answers provided by Bariatric AI (the "Services") are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and should not be construed as such.
The Services are a patient education, record-keeping and follow-up tool, to be used together with, not as a substitute for, the care and judgment of a healthcare professional. The Services do not diagnose, do not interpret clinical measurements and do not tell you what treatment to follow.
2. No Doctor–Patient Relationship
Use of the Services does not create a physician–patient, therapist–patient or any other treatment relationship between you and Bariatric AI or any of its workforce, contractors or affiliates.
3. Consult Your Clinician
Always ask your physician, surgeon or other healthcare professional about any question regarding a medical condition, a medication, a surgery, or your care after surgery or during drug treatment (including GLP-1 medications). Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or received through the Services.
4. Limits of AI Answers
The answers from Vita, the app's AI assistant, are generated by a language model from an outside provider (Anthropic). For some answers, the app first searches a reference library we put together from published literature on nutrition, physical activity and bariatric surgery, and passes those excerpts to the model. Not every answer comes from that library: the model also uses its general knowledge. An answer that cites a source is not correct because of it.
These systems can:
- Make mistakes, omit context or give outdated information.
- Misinterpret what you write, especially in ambiguous or unusual clinical situations.
- Generate information that sounds plausible but is incorrect ("hallucinations").
Before acting on any information you receive through the Services, check it with a healthcare professional.
5. Not an Approved Medical Device
The Services are not cleared, approved or authorized as a medical device by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), by Argentina's ANMAT or by any other regulatory body, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. They support medical care; they do not replace it.
Symptom notices. Some features (the symptom check-in and the GLP-1 medication dose log) ask you closed questions about symptoms and, based on your answers, show a fixed notice suggesting when to contact your doctor or seek urgent care. If a message you write to your care team contains words that may signal an emergency, the app also shows you a fixed notice. These notices are automatic and for guidance only, are not a diagnosis or a treatment or dosing instruction, may fail to detect a problem, and do not replace your doctor's assessment. The decision to seek care is yours. If you feel unwell, do not wait for a notice from the app or for a reply to a message.
6. Individual Variability
Outcomes of bariatric surgery, GLP-1 therapy and weight management vary significantly from person to person based on biology, other conditions, adherence and other factors. General information from the Services may not be appropriate for your situation. Any personalized plan must be reviewed and supervised by your treating physician.
7. Third-Party Content
The Services may show citations, links or excerpts from third-party scientific literature. That content is the responsibility of its authors and publishers. Citing a work does not imply endorsing any particular intervention.
8. No Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bariatric AI does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or suitability of the information in the Services for any particular medical purpose. See our Terms of Service for other disclaimers and limitations of liability.
9. User Responsibility
You acknowledge that if you rely on information from the Services, you do so at your own risk. Bariatric AI, its workforce, contractors and affiliates are not liable for decisions you make or actions you take based on that information. If you are a consumer, this section applies only to the extent permitted by the consumer-protection law that applies to you; in Argentina, it does not limit the rights that Law 24,240 gives you.
For healthcare professionals. The Services are a record-keeping and follow-up tool. They do not replace clinical judgment, which remains the sole responsibility of the licensed professional. You are responsible for the safe and appropriate use of any AI-generated answer in patient care.
