Medical Disclaimer
EMERGENCY NOTICE. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the United States) or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. Do not rely on Bariatric AI for emergency care.
1. Not Medical Advice
The information, content, and AI-generated outputs provided by Bariatric AI (the "Services") are for informational and educational purposes only and are not intended as, and shall not be understood or construed as, professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The Services are designed as a clinical decision-support and patient-engagement tool to be used in conjunction with, not as a substitute for, the judgment of a qualified healthcare professional.
2. No Doctor–Patient Relationship
Use of the Services does not create a physician–patient, therapist–patient, or any other professional treatment relationship between you and Bariatric AI or any of its workforce, contractors, or affiliates.
3. Consult Your Clinician
Always seek the advice of your physician, surgeon, or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, medication, surgical procedure, or post-operative or post-pharmacological (including GLP-1) plan of care. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or received through the Services.
4. AI-Generated Content Limitations
Outputs from our AI agents are produced by automated systems using retrieval-augmented generation against a curated peer-reviewed corpus. These systems can:
- Make mistakes, omit context, or produce outdated information.
- Misinterpret user input, especially in ambiguous or unusual clinical scenarios.
- Generate plausible-sounding but incorrect ("hallucinated") information.
You should independently verify any information received from the Services with a qualified clinician before acting on it.
5. Not FDA-Cleared as a Medical Device
Unless explicitly stated in writing, the Services are not cleared, approved, or authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory body as a medical device, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The Services are intended to support, not replace, regulated clinical care.
6. Individual Variability
Bariatric surgery, GLP-1 therapy, and weight-management outcomes vary significantly between individuals based on biology, comorbidities, adherence, and other factors. Generic information provided through the Services may not be appropriate for your specific situation. Personalized plans must be reviewed and supervised by your treating clinician.
7. Third-Party Content
The Services may surface citations, links, or excerpts from third-party scientific literature. Such content remains the responsibility of its original authors and publishers. Inclusion of a citation does not imply endorsement of any particular intervention.
8. No Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bariatric AI expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or suitability of the information provided through the Services for any particular medical purpose. See our Terms of Service for additional disclaimers and limitations of liability.
9. User Responsibility
You acknowledge and agree that any reliance you place on information from the Services is at your own risk. Bariatric AI, its workforce, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any decision made or action taken in reliance on information provided through the Services.
For clinicians. The Services are intended as decision-support tools. Clinical judgment remains the sole responsibility of the licensed clinician. You are responsible for the safe and appropriate use of any AI-generated output in patient care.
